Telemundo’s New England Stations To Air Two Celtics Games

Telemundo-owned stations serving Boston, Hartford-New Haven, Providence and Springfield, Mass., will be airing a pair of Boston Celtics NBA games live and en español, a new extension of the team’s “Noche Latina” celebration.

On Saturday (3/29), the Celtics’ game at the San Antonio Spurs will appear on WNEU-TV in Boston; WRDM-TV in Hartford-New Haven; WRIW-TV in Providence; and on WDMR-TV in Western Massachusetts. The game begins at 8pm.

The stations will also air the Celtics’ April 6 home game against the Washington Wizards, starting at 6pm.

Live Spanish-language commentary will be led by Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra Sports Anchor Jesús Quiñones, who will serve as the play-by-play announcer. Quiñones will be joined by analyst Giddel Padilla, a former professional basketball player and University of Massachusetts guard.

Officially, the games are simulcasts of NBC Sports Boston telecasts featuring announcer Drew Carter and analyst Brian Scalabrine, but with different dialogue.

The Celtics ‘Noche Latina’ celebration on April 6 will feature a halftime performance by recording artist Yelena Rodriguez.
