New ‘FAST’ Channel Comes As U.S. Latino Family Co-Viewing Continues

Among U.S. Hispanic audiences, the concept of “co-viewing” has been a staple for some 15 years, given the higher likelihood of multigenerational families compared to the total market. In response to this continued trait, the company that owns WAPA América and manages such audio brands in Puerto Rico as “KQ105” has brought to life a free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel “dedicated to inspirational family entertainment.”

This sees the launch by Hemisphere Media Group of Spanish-language offering Todo familia.

Debuting October, the new ad-supported streaming channel will be available in the United States and Puerto Rico on Dish Network, DishLATINO, Sling TV, and Sling Freestream.

Additionally, Todo familia will become available on The Roku Channel and Canela.TV in the coming weeks.

Todo familia was created in partnership with “values-based” film distribution company Ocean Avenue Entertainment.

“At a time when viewing has become increasingly fragmented and individualized, we see an opportunity to create a destination that brings audiences together,” said Hemisphere Media Group President/CEO Alan Sokol. “TODO familia is built around a simple idea: when a great story is shared, watching becomes more than entertainment; it becomes time spent together. We want to give Spanish-speaking audiences a place where they can find uplifting and inspirational stories they feel good about sharing with their families.”
