FDP’s Sponsorship Score: Verizon Now A Broadcast Partner

Fútbol de Primera (FDP Radio), the audio home of Spanish-language coverage of the FIFA World Cup in the U.S., has a new official broadcast partner of FDP Radio’s exclusive broadcasts of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The agreement is with Verizon, and the partnership extends to three other signature soccer properties FDP Radio provides coverage of — the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, the 2022 Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers, and the Mexican National Team U.S. tour and international friendly matches.

It’s a multiyear, multiplatform media and marketing agreement that sees FDP Radio and Verizon launch exclusive activations for fans to experience the passion of fútbol and connect with the “beautiful game.” This includes special on-air content across all of FDP Radio’s on-air and digital platforms and live in-person events at select Verizon retail stores across the country.

Live-game experiences will be powered by Sportradar, a provider of sports betting and sports entertainment products and services on mobile and digital platforms.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Verizon on this monumental media partnership which will excite our passionate listeners around the country and enable them to connect with their favorite national teams and players in immersive and entertaining ways,” said Andrés Cantor, Chairman and Owner of FDP Radio Network. “This unique collaboration further expands and amplifies our already must-listen to broadcasts, bringing the games closer to our respective audiences and customers through compelling programming and experiences delivered by two best-in-class, trusted brands.”

Rachel Chan, Director of Media Strategy and Activation for Verizon, added, “This innovative brand integration leverages cutting-edge technology and the power of radio to provide premium content and unrivaled experiences that authentically connect with the communities we are deeply committed to and serve.”

The partnership begins Saturday (7/10) with FDP Radio’s coverage of the Concacaf Gold Cup.
