Albuquerque Joins Telemundo Studios For Content and Development Role

It’s a newly created role, and it sees a woman taking on oversight responsibilities for the development of what viewers watch across all linear and streaming platforms under the NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises banner.

Earning the title of Senior Vice President for Content and Development at Telemundo Studios is Monica Albuquerque.
She will work closely with Javier Pons, Executive Vice President at Telemundo Studios, as it continues to expand its content offering under the new leadership of Ronald Day, President of Entertainment and Chief Content Officer.

“With more than three decades of experience in media and entertainment, she brings a wealth of expertise spanning scripted and unscripted content development, casting, talent management, and marketing for Spanish-language programming,” Telemundo Studios said.

Albuquerque recently served as Head of Scripted Content at Warner Bros. Discovery Latin America, where she spearheaded the development of original scripted projects for HBO Max and pay-TV outlets across the region. Before that, she led talent and telenovela development at Warner Bros. Discovery Latin America and spent 21 years at TV Globo, including seven as head of the company’s development and artistic monitoring board.

Albuquerque commented, “I’m honored to join the talented team at Telemundo Studios in this exciting new role. Telemundo has long been at the forefront of groundbreaking content, pushing boundaries with bold, innovative programming. I look forward to contributing to that legacy, strengthening our connection with existing audiences, and fostering new generations of Telemundo superfans.”
