A new multi-city community conversation series under Telemundo’s national sports impact initiative “Tu Momento. Tu Jugada” will get its debut in Phoenix, as excitement for the FIFA World Cup 2026 builds ahead of its North American matches.
“Café Golazo” champions what Telemundo calls “the transformative power of sport to inspire character, teamwork, and leadership across communities nationwide.”
Launched in 2025, “Tu Momento. Tu Jugada.” is built on the belief that the spirit of sport can elevate every community.
“Café Golazo reflects our continued commitment to ensuring that the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ extends far beyond the matches,” said Luis Rosero, Vice President of Corporate & External Affairs at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “Through Tu Momento. Tu Jugada., we are bringing communities together, elevating local voices, and creating spaces where collaboration and opportunity can take root.”
The first Café Golazo, in partnership with Telemundo Arizona, took place Thursday (3/19) in Arizona. “Phoenix has a deep and growing passion for fútbol, and launching Café Golazo here reflects our commitment to uplifting the voices, stories, and aspirations of our community,” said Andrew Deschapelles, President/General Manager for Telemundo Phoenix, Telemundo Las Vegas & Telemundo Tucson. “This event creates an important space for dialogue and connection as we prepare for this historic moment, and we are proud to help lead that conversation.”
The program featured a fireside chat with:
- Monica Villalobos, President & CEO, Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
- Heber Valenzuela, President, State 48 FC Foundation
- Bobby Dulle, President, Phoenix Rising Football Club
The conversation was moderated by Ivan Valenzuela, Sports Anchor for Noticiero Telemundo Arizona.
Future Café Golazo locations are to be announced.
