While the city of Boca Raton, Fla., may think of itself as a classy hub of business and higher income households, in English the city’s name is “Rat’s Mouth.”

For Entravision, there’s nothing gross at all about a rat’s mouth. In fact, it’s just committed to one as the centerpiece of its latest national radio programming syndication effort.

Introducing “El Show del Raton,” which debuted at 6am Pacific on October 18 at the company’s KDLD-FM/KDLE-FM “Viva 103.1,” today focused on cumbias, in Southern California.

The program is also available from 5-10am Pacific across Entravision’s La Tricolor Network, focused on regional Mexican music.

“El Show del Raton” features Martin Alfonso Romero as ‘El Raton.’ He’ll be joined by co-host Liz Ramos, a.k.a. “La Pitaya.” Serving as the show producer is Jacob Argueta, “El Pinolillo.”

“We are extremely excited to introduce our newest morning radio program to Tricolor Network and Viva 103.1 FM listeners,” said Nestor Rocha, Vice President of Audio at Entravision a longtime company programming executive. “Martin Romero’s deep connection with the Hispanic community, together with his long, successful on-air career, are a strong combination that is sure to bring our listeners more entertainment value.”

Romero commented, “I started my career over two decades ago in my home country of Mexico and upon coming to the United States, it was my goal to create a program that was a combination of humor, energy, freshness and information with the best Mexican regional music. ‘El Show del Raton’ is just that, and I’ve been living the dream ever since. I know our listeners will enjoy it.”

“El Show del Raton” previously aired on now-defunct Grupo Radio Centro-controlled KMVN-FM 93.9 in Los Angeles, today owned by Meruelo Media and known since July 2019 as KLLI-FM.
